Public Information Centres (PIC) are meant to educate members of the community in regards to upcoming projects and initiatives.  Feedback is always welcome at these informal meetings.  There is no need to reserve a spot and everyone is welcome.

    Decommissioned Skateboard Equipment
    The public is invited to discuss the skateboard equipment from the decommissioned park in Memorial Park.  Drop-in format.

    Reconstruction Of Bethesda Sideroad - From Highway 404 To Highway 48 & Tenth Line To York-Durham Line

    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is planning to reconstruct Bethesda Sideroad, from Highway 404 to Highway 48
    & Tenth Line to York-Durham Line. The intent is to reconstruct the existing road width to improve pavement condition;
    to implement safety and drainage improvements, where warranted; and, to encourage active transportation. The
    2018 construction phase is planned to include the length of Bethesda Sideroad, from McCowan Road to Highway 48.
    Future segments of Bethesda Sideroad will be constructed from 2019 to 2022.

  • May 3, 2017
    Schedule 'B' Municipal Class Environmental Assessment - Lakeshore Road, Musselman's Lake
    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has retained the Ainley Group to complete a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the rehabilitation of the following two segments of Lakeshore Road and drainage channel, located along the southern portion of Musselman Lake. The purpose of this undertaking is to improve the overall condition of the approximately 300 metre segment of Lakeshore Road, address the deterioration of the shoreline along Segment A (see key map) and prevent further deterioration of the shoreline along Segment B (see key map). Work within the drainage channel is intended to improve storm water conveyance and further reduce deterioration to Lakeshore Road. This project will follow the Schedule 'B' planning process as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (amended 2011).

  • Fill Management Plan Amendment
    The Corporation of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has received an application to amend the Site Alteration and Fill Management Plan and Site Alteration Permit for the property municipally known as 14245 Ninth Line, Concession 9, Part of Lot 14, in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.  Staff from the Town's Engineering Division are facilitating a Public Information Session on Wednesday May 17, 2017 for the owner of the subject property.  The session will be convened from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Offices, located at 111 Sandiford Drive, Stouffville.

  • Park Drive Parking Lot Expansion
    The Town of Whicthurch-Stouffville is holding a Public Information Centre (PIC) in regards to the Park Drive Parking Lot expansion at 6240 Main Street, Stouffville.  Staff will be present to entertain resident's questions in regards to the lot's expansion and re-location of the skate board equipment.  Inquiries should be directed to Gord Haggerty, Operations Technologist, Public Works Department at 905-640-1910 ext. 4268 or gord.haggerty@townofws.ca

  • Reconstruction Of Burkholder Street, Russel Avenue and Blake Street
    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has proceeded to detailed design for the reconstruction of Burkholder Street, Russel Avenue and Blake Street. As a result of the 2017 Budget Approval, Burkholder Street will proceed to construction in 2017. Russel Avenue and Blake Street will be constructed in 2018. The detailed design reflects comments and feedback received at the previous Public Information Centre held on November 16, 2016. The detailed design is exploring: updating the streetscape consistent with heritage considerations; repaving the streets once underground utilities and curbs have been installed; replacing the existing sanitary sewer on all three streets; replacing the watermain and adding a new storm sewer on Burkholder Street and Russel Avenue; construction of new sidewalks; and consideration of making Blake Street a one-way street southbound, including consideration of a bicycle lane.

  • Reconstruction of Montreal Street, Vanzant Court, Stouffer Street and North Street
    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has proceeded to detailed design for the reconstruction of Montreal Street, Vanzant Court, and portions of Stouffer Street and North Street. Following the approved 2017 Budget, Montreal Street, Stouffer Street and North Street will proceed to construction in 2017, with Vanzant Court to follow in 2018. Roadways with existing gravel shoulders and drainage ditches will be considered for improvements including concrete curbs and storm sewer systems.   • Reconstruction Of Main Street From Stouffer Street To Park Drive
    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has proceeded to the 2017 Construction Phase of detailed design for the reconstruction of Main Street between Stouffer Street and Ninth Line. The 2017 Construction Phase is bounded by Stouffer Street and Park Drive. This phase of the project is focused on the renewal of underground infrastructure, including watermain and sewer upgrades, as well as the replacement of the existing sidewalk.

  • Active Transportation Servicing Plan
    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has initiated public consultation and investigation as part of the Active Transportation Servicing Plan (ATSP). The objective of the study is to determine the infrastructure requirements of an integrated pedestrian and cycling network in the Communities of Stouffville and Ballantrae-Musselman's Lake. This will be based on active transportation needs; integration with Town capital works and Regional Transportation Master Plans; compatibility between cycling infrastructure and vehicle parking requirements; and, financial considerations.

    The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has initiated design for reconstruction of Main Street between Ninth Line and Stouffer Street. The design seeks to create a distinctive streetscape that is walkable, accessible and conducive of gathering through the provision of public spaces. Design considerations include active transportation, pedestrian crossings, parking provisions, street furniture, lighting and underground infrastructure renewal.
