Outdoor Ice Rinks
Outdoor winter ice rinks in Whitchurch-Stouffville are at the mercy of the weather. When weather conditions permit, volunteers and Town staff will build and maintain ice rinks at the following locations:
Outdoor Rink Locations:
All outdoor rinks are temporarily closed due to mild weather.

Check back on this webpage and Town social media pages for updates throughout the season.
Please be aware of the conditions of the ice surface before participating. Should the “Rink Closed” sign be posted, please refrain from utilizing the surface for any purpose.
Volunteers Program:
Due to current provincial restrictions, we have paused our Outdoor Rink Volunteer Program. Town staff will build and maintain our rinks until such time as these restrictions are reduced. We sincerely appreciate each volunteer that have stepped forward to assist this year and will be contacting you should the program be resurrected.
There are several locations to choose from, so find one in your neighbourhood... this is a great opportunity to get outside, get to know your neighbours and give back to the community.
COVID-19 Ice Rink Guidelines
All current COVID-19 provincial restrictions and self-screening are to be followed while utilizing any area on Town property, including outdoor rinks.
Specific guidelines for our outdoor rinks include:
- Maximum of 10 skaters per skating surface (space permitting)
- Physical distancing at a minimum of 3m must be maintained for participants that do not reside in the same household
- No hockey or game play allowed! Casual skating only!
- Helmets are highly recommended.
- Limit your time to 45 minutes should there be people waiting to skate
We are hopeful that outdoor rink users understand the importance of full compliance to the COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines dedicated to the use of our facilities. Please keep yourself safe and do your part for those around you!
Should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact Brian Slater, Manager of Facilities & Parks at brian.slater@townofws.ca
There must be a minimum of 5 volunteers/location or ice rink won’t be supported
