  • 1 Training Officer
  • 28 Full-time fire suppression staff

Fire Stations

Station 51

Fire station 51 building

Station 51 is the Fire Department Headquarters and the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Emergency Operation Centre. Fire Department Management as well as Fire Prevention/Public Education operate out of this station. In addition, full-time firefighters staff this hall 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supported by a dedicated force of volunteer firefighters.

This state-of-the-art station replaced the old Main Street fire station in November 2009. The architecture of the station incorporates a strong heritage theme that is reflected in the overall design and is equipped with a classroom and training tower facility.

Station 52

Fire station 52 building

Station 52 is staffed with full-time firefighters 12 hours a day, seven days a week, and supported by a dedicated force of volunteer fire fighters. The Training Division also operates out of this station.

In 1999, this station replaced a temporary fire station located at the intersection of Aurora Road and Ninth Line and acted as the Fire Department headquarters until November 2009.

Station 52 is equipped with a classroom and a community services room used by Town staff and members of the public. It is also the back up Emergency Operations Centre.

FIRE MASTER PLAN
In June of 2018, Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services had a Fire Master Plan developed in collaboration with the northern six municipalities in York Region to examine potential areas of improvement for the northern six fire departments. Click here to learn more.
TANKER SHUTTLE ACCREDITATION
The Superior Tanker Service is a test that is administered by the Insurer's Advisory Organization (IAO) and forms a part of the Fire Underwriters Survey rating. The Fire Underwriters Survey provides a rating which is used by most insurance companies to determine fire insurance premiums. Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services is happy to announce that we hold the Tanker Shuttle Accreditation. If you're interested in finding out how this service benefits you, we recommend you contact your insurance company!
VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTING
Being a volunteer firefighter can be both rewarding and challenging. The profession requires individuals to dedicate time to not only respond to emergency calls, but to also commit to many hours of training.

If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer firefighter you can read our Volunteer Recruitment Information Package.

All persons wishing to become a volunteer firefighter need to provide a cover letter and a resume.
