Hazardous Waste Disposal
Household Hazardous Waste includes materials such as household cleaners and detergents, paints and solvents, motor oil and windshield washer fluid, batteries, prescription medicine or pharmaceuticals, needles and syringes, fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs).
Disposing of your household hazardous waste in the garbage or washing it down the drain can be dangerous to your family and the environment. Household Hazardous Waste can be disposed of at one of the Region's four Household Hazardous Waste Depots.
Please refer to the Region of York's Hazardous Waste Program for more information.
