Parking
The Town uses proactive and complaint-based parking enforcement. Please contact Customer Service if you have a parking complaint or concern, at 905-640-1900.
There is a 3-hour limit for on-street parking year-round; however, the 3-hour parking restrictions between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. have been removed for Downtown Stouffville’s Main Street. Winter parking restrictions take effect December 1 - March 31, where there is to be no parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Vehicles violating the Town’s parking By-Law may be ticketed.
Did you know that the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville does not allow parking on side or front lawns according to parking by-law 2008-114-PR.

PARKING TICKETS
To pay or appeal your parking ticket, visit paytickets.townofws.ca. If you are unable to pay online, you may pay via the following options:
- Mail: Write parking ticket number on front of cheque or money order, payable to: "The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville".
- Drop Box: Place ticket in envelope labeled “Attn: Municipal Law Enforcement” with cheque or money order (no cash) in secure 24-hours drop box located beside the main entrance of Town Hall.
- In-Person: Pay directly at Town Hall Customer Service, Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on civic/statutory holidays.
PARKING PERMITS
Residents that require on-street parking for overnight guests, driveway repairs and/or reasons needing to park longer than 3 hours can obtain a free parking exemption from the Town for up to 12 times a year per license plate. Visit paytickets.townofws.ca to get your on-street parking permits.
On-Street Permits cease to be applicable during winter maintenance activities (ie. snow flurries, snow clearing and sanding/salting operations) Note: If a permit has been obtained during winter maintenance activities the permit becomes null & void & any tickets issued will not be cancelled
How it works:
- permit start times are 12:00 midnight of date selected or time of purchase
- Permit expiry times are as follows:
1. On-street permits and daily lot permit expire on the same date selected at 11:59 pm
2. Weekly lot permit expire on the 7th day at 11:59 pm
3. Monthly lot permits expire on the last day of the month at 11:59 pm - permits are issued electronically and are automatically attached to the license plate - no print and display required
- please ensure all information is accurate when registering for your permit
- permits are only valid for the plate number and location on the registered permit
- permits are non-refundable and non-transferable
- permits may be revoked or cancelled when necessary to ensure public safety, when it was obtained through the submission of false, misleading or fraudulent information, or when the vehicle in respect of which the permit was issued has an expired validation sticker
- permits cannot be used for un-plated vehicles or vehicles with expired stickers
- on-street permits will not be issued for vehicles with outstanding Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville parking infractions or persons who have exceeded their exemptions for the year of on-street permits
- on-street permits cannot be used for commercial vehicles, boats/trailers, school buses or recreational vehicles
Vehicles without a valid permit will be ticketed and/or towed at owners' expense. Valid parking permits only exempt vehicles from the 3-hour parking restriction and the overnight restriction (December 1 - March 31). They do not provide exemption from other parking infractions, such as:
- interfering with snow clearing operations
- parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant parking within a "No Parking" or "No Stopping" zone
- parking within 9 metres of an intersection
- parking left wheels to the curb

Please note:
If the Town has a special event in any of the Facility Parking Lots that a permit has been purchased, the permit holder will be required to relocate in another Facility Parking Lot.

Personal information contained in the permit parking application is collected under the authority of the Town's current Parking By-law and will be used for the purpose of processing a parking permit. Did You Know?
Any vehicle without valid license plates parked on a street or in a Town parking lot, will be tagged and/or towed as an abandoned vehicle. York Regional Police will receive information from Town By-law Officers when a vehicle is towed. During business hours, please contact our By-law Enforcement if you suspect your vehicle has been towed. After hours, please contact York Regional Police (non-emergencies only).
