Property Standards
There are four By-laws related to Property Standards within the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville:

- Clean Yards By-law
- Boarding up of Vacant Buildings
- Fence & Pool Enclosure By-law

Property Standards By-law
The Property Standards By-law sets minimum standards for the maintenance and occupancy of property within the Town. These standards are established to protect the health and safety of occupants, tenants and any persons who may enter the property.
Property Standards address the physical building and the land around the property. The property owner must maintain and repair the interior and exterior of the property.

Clean Yards By-law
The Clean Yards By-law sets standards for properties regarding litter, waste and property maintenance to help ensure that properties are safe, clean and attractive. The Town's Clean Yards By-law regulates: vegetation, waste, dust, litter, composting, standing water, sewage, drainage, pits, excavations, graffiti, snow and ice.

Boarding up of Vacant Buildings By-law
Where a building is vacant and/or has been significantly damaged by accident, storm, fire, neglect, intentional damage or otherwise, an owner shall secure every opening into the building with boarding.
Requirements are established to prevent the entrance of unauthorized persons into the building by closing and securing every opening to the building with boarding.

Fence & Pool Enclosure By-law
This By-law sets requirements for the height and description of fences, privacy screens or enclosures within the Town, as well as the requirement to build and maintain fences and gates around swimming pools. These requirements are established to protect the health, safety and well-being of residents.
