Advertising Channels
Individuals, organizations and community groups may request to have their information displayed on Town signs, in Town facilities or on our Community Calendar on our website. Rules and regulations pertaining to LED signs and facilities are outlined below. To have an event listed on our Community Calendar, visit our Calendar page here.
Displaying Messages on LED Signs:
You may request to have messages displayed on Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville ("the Town") LED signs if the information is of interest to the citizens of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Please note that messages will not be displayed if they:
- are commercial in nature and, in the Town's sole opinion, are attempting to advertise, promote or sell products or services of an individual or an individual business
- are religious in nature and, in the Town's sole opinion, are attempting to advertise, promote or sell products or services of a place of worship, or convey messages intending to express religious views, or is information relating to a place of worship
- promote, exhibit, illustrate or manifest hate or obscene, pornographic or sexual content of any kind
- do not comply with municipal, provincial or federal legislation
- are intended to exclude a particular group or a number of groups
- are deemed to be political in nature.
The content of the message must, in the sole opinion of the Town, publicize an event, service, or initiative by one of the following types of organizations:
- the Town;
- funded, in full or in part, by the Town;
- a Town affiliated group1;
- an order of government other than the Town2; or
- a government-funded agency or board.
The Town reserves the right to modify the wording, layout or location of messages. Messages shall only be posted on any outdoor LED sign for a maximum of 14 days (or 2 weeks) or for a shorter period as indicated by the requestor on the completed form. All updates will be made on Thursdays unless deemed urgent.

Displaying Publications in Town Facilities:
You may request to have publications distributed on Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville ("the Town") property, or in Town owned facilities, if the information contained within ("the content") is of interest to the citizens of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Communication channels available in Town-owned facilities include, but are not limited to, bulletin boards, print material stands and displays, and television screens. They do not include LED signs.
Publications will not be displayed if they:
- are commercial in nature and, in the Town's sole opinion, are attempting to advertise, promote or sell products or services of an individual or an individual business
- are religious in nature and, in the Town's sole opinion, are attempting to advertise, promote or sell products or services of a place of worship, or convey messages intending to express religious views, or is information relating to a place of worship
- promote, exhibit, illustrate or manifest hate or obscene, pornographic or sexual content of any kind
- do not comply with municipal, provincial or federal legislation
- are intended to exclude a particular group or a number of groups
- are deemed to be political in nature.
The content and/or the publication must, in the sole opinion of the Town, meet one of the following criteria:
- It is produced by the Town;
- It is funded, in full, or in part, by the Town;
- It is produced by a Town affiliated group1;
- It is produced by an order of government, other than the Town2;
- It is a publication the Town purchases paid advertising in;
- It is produced by a government-funded agency or board; or
- It is one of the following local newspapers: Stouffville Sun-Tribune, Stouffville Review, Stouffville Free Press or SNAPd Stouffville/Uxbridge.
We reserve the right to post, refuse to post, or remove, any publication.
Please note that we will try and approve or deny publications within 48-72 hours. You will not be notified directly when a decision has been made.
