Notice of Temporary Road Closure - Davis Drive (Towns of East Gwillimbury and Town Whitchurch-Stouffville)

York Region continues to improve Davis Drive in the Town of East Gwillimbury and Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Description

  • Paving operations and culvert rehabilitation
  • A temporary road closure is required to complete this work

Duration

  • Paving - Tuesday, August 11 to Monday, August 17, 2026
  • Road closure - Saturday, August 15 to Sunday, August 16, 2026

Impacts to travellers

  • Paving on Davis Drive from Highway 48 to York Durham Line will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • The road will remain open to through traffic; however, lane restrictions are required.
  • Davis Drive, from Ninth Line to York Durham Line, will be closed at 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 15 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026 to complete paving and culvert rehabilitation
  • Access to homes and businesses will be maintained

As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather or to accommodate other work underway in the area. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
