MAYOR

Iain Lovatt

Mayor Iain Lovatt was elected as Mayor of Whitchurch-Stouffville in 2018 and again in 2022.

He was first elected to Whitchurch-Stouffville Council in 2014 as Ward 5 Councillor.

Mayor Lovatt serves on York Regional Council and is the current Vice-Chair of Housing York Inc and the Vice-Chair of Transportation Services.  He is also on the Board of Directors for York Telecom Network and in the 2018-2022 term served as the Vice-Chairman of York Region's Finance & Administration Committee and was a member of the Audit Committee for York Region.

Mayor Lovatt sits Parks Canada's Rouge National Urban Park Advisory Board and gives his time to a number of non-profit organizations related to the arts & health and is currently the York Region Council ex-officio Director on the York Region Arts Council.

Mayor Lovatt's fundraising efforts this term have been directed to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund and has raised a $1000000 endowment and over $750000 in grant funds for local Whitchurch-Stouffville charities and service groups. 

As Co-Chair of Markham Stouffville Hospital's Newest Capital Campaign, his efforts will help the hospital's $100 million fundraising goal.

Mayor Lovatt and his wife Mary have three children.
