Septic System Maintenance Inspections

If you own a property with a septic system in the Town of Stouffville, you need to have septic system maintenance completed every five years if your property is within 100 m of:

  • Any river or stream that continually flows in an average year
  • Any lake or pond that is connected on the surface to a river or stream
  • Any other lake or pond that has a surface area greater than eight hectares
  • The Lake Simcoe shoreline

Septic system maintenance helps protect the environment and our drinking water while supporting the Clean Water Act and the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan.
