Skate Trail Conditions May Vary as Temperatures Fluctuate

As temperatures begin to fluctuate in March, ice conditions on the Town’s Skate Trail may change quickly. Depending on weather and ice quality, the trail may open or close periodically to ensure the safety of users and to help preserve the ice surface.l Park Skating Trail is now closed for the season due to warm weather.

Construction Notice: Stouffville Road from McCowan Road to Highway 48

February 25, 2026

Construction is taking place on Stouffville Road between McCowan Road and Highway 48 in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to complete an emergency repair to a leaking watermain. As part of this work, the eastbound lanes will be temporarily closed, with one lane of traffic maintained in each direction.

Notice of Public Meeting for Town Initiated Official Plan & Zoning By-law Amendment

Development Services Commission is in the first phase of ‘ReZone + ReDesign Stouffville’, a project to concurrently update both the Town-Wide Comprehensive Zoning By-law and Town-Wide Urban Design Guidelines. As part of this work, two Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) priority initiatives are being completed at the outset of the project to support the development of housing in Town.

Stouffville Declares Significant Weather Event

Due to forecasted snowfall amounts and deteriorating conditions, the Town is declaring a Significant Weather Event, effective today. All transportation routes such as roadways, sidewalks, multi-use paths, bicycle lanes, and lane ways may require additional time to clear.

The Council of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville passed By-law 2026-006-DS to designate Pleasantview House as a property of cultural heritage value or interest.

Upcoming: Main Street Closure Feb 3, 11PM - Feb 4, 6AM

Main Street Stouffville will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday, February 3 at 11:00 PM, through to Wednesday, February 4 at 6:00 AM. This closure is to facilitate the removal of snow that has been piled up on the boulevards and sidewalks.

Stouffville Declares a Significant Weather Event

January 15, 2026

Event declared due to a snowfall warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada, commencing at 9:45 a.m. on January 15th, 2026. All transportation routes such as roadways, sidewalks, multi-use paths, bicycle lanes, and lane ways, may require additional time to clear. Residents are asked to use caution when travelling and allow extra time for winter maintenance operations.
