Construction Notice – Driveway Paving & Top Asphalt Preparation: O’Brien Avenue
Project update:
Paving for driveway aprons and top asphalt preparation is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday, May 28th, weather permitting. The top asphalt preparation will include road milling at the intersections along O’Brien Avenue (Main Street, Somerville Street, Burkholder Street, and Rose Avenue) and raising of the maintenance hole covers and valve boxes on the road. The raised maintenance hole covers, valve boxes and milled intersections will be spray painted in bright orange colour. We kindly ask that drivers exercise caution when travelling along O’Brien Avenue.
Driveway access will be impacted during this work for driveways that require paving; however, driveway access is expected to be restored by end of day Wednesday, May 28th.
Top asphalt paving will be scheduled for a later date. The Town will provide residents another notice in advance of top asphalt paving.
What residents can expect:
We ask that you move your cars from your driveways and off O’Brien Avenue before 7:00am Wednesday, May 28th. Residents are permitted to use Somerville Street, Burkholder Street and Rose Avenue for parking. The usual 3-hour parking restriction has been waived during construction.
However, please note the following will still be enforced:
- Parking within 3 meters of a fire hydrant
- Parking obstructing a sidewalk
- Parking to interfere with traffic
- Parking facing the opposite direction traffic is proceeding
- Parking within 9 meters of an intersection
- Parking within a “No Parking” or “No Stopping” zone
- Others as noted in the Parking By-Law
The Town appreciates your cooperation and patience during construction.
