Construction Notice - Main Street Improvements - Park Drive to 100m east of Park Drive

The Town of Stouffville is pleased to advise that construction for the Downtown Revitalization Project will begin on November 2, 2026. The work has been awarded to Rabcon Contractors Limited and is anticipated to be completed by December 2028.

The first stage of construction is scheduled from November 2 to December 23, 2026. During this phase, crews will be working on Main Street between Park Drive and approximately 100 metres east of Park Drive to complete storm sewer extension and roadway restoration.

What’s Next

In preparation for construction, the Town has retained OZA Inspections Ltd. to conduct pre-construction condition surveys of nearby properties. Impacted residents and businesses will be notified directly.

Impact on Nearby Residents and Businesses

  • Temporary lane closures will occur in stages and periodic delays can be expected throughout construction.
  • Traffic control measures will be in place to ensure safety and minimize delays.
  • Construction activity will be Monday through Friday during permitted working hours. If overnight work and road closures are required, affected residents and businesses will receive advance notice outlining dates, times and impacts.
  • Increased noise, dust and vibration associated with excavation and road reconstruction activities.
  • No on-street parking will be available within the active construction zone.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained, although routes may be adjusted around construction areas as required.
  • Access to homes and businesses will be maintained whenever possible.
  • Any planned disruptions to driveway access or municipal services will be communicated in advance.
  • Residents and businesses are asked to clearly label garbage, recycling and yard waste containers, as the contractor may be required to relocate them temporarily on collection days during construction.

Property within Right-of-Way

The Town is not responsible for damage or loss to landscaping, decorative features, fencing, irrigation systems, or other privately owned improvements located within the public road right-of-way.
