Construction Notice: Ninth Line from Main Street to Bloomington Road, Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville
Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future.
Description:
- Removing and replacing asphalt road surface on Ninth Line from Main Street to Bloomington Road
- Installing new traffic signals at Ninth Line and Meridian Drive
- Intersection improvements at Ninth Line and Millard Street
- Upgrading traffic control signals and lighting; temporary signals will be in place during construction
- Enhancing audible pedestrian signals and tactile walking surface indicators to alert people with low or no vision of an upcoming intersection
- Reconstructing crosswalk ramps
- Replacing culverts that allow water to flow freely under driveways
Duration:
Mid-spring 2025 to late summer 2025
Impacts to Travellers
- The road will remain open to through traffic; however, temporary lane closures are required
- Monday to Friday nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for major work such as paving
- Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for minor work such as intersection improvements
- Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
