Notice of Construction: York Durham Line from North of 19th Avenue to Elgin Mills Road East

This serves as an update to Notice of Construction, York Durham Line, City of Markham and Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, originally issued on Monday, July 7, 2025:

  • Phase one, construction on York Durham Line from Main Street to Bethesda Sideroad is complete
  • Phase two, York Durham Line from Main Street to 19th Avenue will be complete on Monday, August 11, 2025 and this section of road will reopen
  • Phase three, York Durham Line from north of 19th Avenue to Elgin Mills Road East will be closed at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025

During the road closures, only local traffic is permitted, other travellers will be directed to detour routes via signage. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained.

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
