NOTICE: Temporary Water Shut-off to your Property

ATTENTION: Residents/Businesses

As part of ongoing reconstruction being completed on Edward Street by the Town’s contractor North Rock Group Ltd., the water service to your property will be temporarily shut down. This shut down is scheduled for Sunday, June 22 at 9:00 p.m. to Monday, June 23 at 6:00 a.m.

What to do before your water supply is shut-off:

  1. Make sure all taps are closed or in the ‘off’ position and ensure that appliances that draw water (washers, dishwashers, etc.) are also turned off to avoid any flooding when your water supply is turned back on.
  2. Please fill as many containers as you need during the time of water shut off. We recommend that you store tap water in large containers (e.g., bathtub, buckets, jugs, and pots) at least two hours before the shut-off time.
  3. With pre-filled buckets, during the shut-off period you can flush a toilet and refill the toilet tank manually using one of the buckets.
  4. Please use soap and fresh water each time you wash your hands, or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

If applicable, when your water supply is turned back on, we recommend that you:

  1. Remove the aerator (screen) from your tap.
  2. Turn on your laundry room or bathtub tap (or the tap located nearest to your property’s water meter/shut off) and let the tap run for a minimum of 10 minutes.
  3. Turn on each cold water tap and let the water run for 5 minutes.
  4. Replace the aerator (screen) on your tap.

We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience as we complete this vital work.
