Town of Stouffville Gifted Rural Park 95-Acre Gormley Greenspace Includes Lake, Pool And Sports Fields

The Town of Stouffville is set to welcome a remarkable new public greenspace with the donation of Simeon Park, a 95-acre recreational property located on Woodbine Ave, north of Bethesda Road. The property, located at 13078 Woodbine Avenue, includes an outdoor pool, picnic areas, a playground, volleyball court, soccer field, baseball diamond and lake. Its extensive natural areas also offer opportunities for hiking, snowshoeing and enjoying the outdoors throughout the year.

Magna International has owned and operated Simeon Park as a private park where employees could participate in leisure, recreational and social activities.  Today, Magna and the Town of Stouffville have signed an agreement for Magna to donate the property and its facilities to the Town at no cost. The transfer of ownership is expected by the end of September.

Decades from now, families will still be gathering here, children will be exploring these lands, and our community will continue to benefit from the generosity behind this gift. Simeon Park will stand as an enduring legacy of Magna’s commitment to Stouffville and a remarkable gift to generations we haven’t even met yet.”

The Town will begin preparing the property for public use, including assessing its existing amenities and identifying any work required to support a safe and welcoming opening. Simeon Park is expected to open to the public in summer 2027.

We look forward to building on the park’s recreational legacy and exploring how this unique space can best serve the community.”
