Spreading Holiday Cheer: Linda Mainprize Toys for Tickets Program returns along with Food & Toy Drive

Stouffville's Linda Mainprize Toys for Tickets program has returned, allowing residents to donate toys and gifts in lieu of paying a parking ticket. This program is in conjunction with the Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services Department collecting donations for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank and supporting the Stouffville Lions Club Toy Drive as one of their recognized drop-off locations.

As part of the program, parking tickets issued by the Town between December 1 and 15, can be paid by donation. Gifts must be in their original packaging and the value of the donation (before taxes) must match or exceed the amount owed on the Parking Infraction Notice. Proof of purchase and the Infraction Notice must be presented at the time of donation.

“This program has been a staple in our Town for 20 years now and provides a unique way to make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community,” said Mayor Iain Lovatt. “In our community, generosity is a way of life, making Stouffville a truly, special place to live and work.”

Donation suggestions: new unwrapped children’s toys; non-perishable food items such as canned fruit, vegetables, soups, stews; clothing for infants and children and gift certificates for teenagers

Donations can be made at the Municipal Offices, 111 Sandiford Drive, Stouffville, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Donations are accepted between December 1 and December 18. Donations will be distributed through the Stouffville Lions Club and the Stouffville Food Bank.
