Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services and Kidde Unite to Support at-risk Communities
Today, fire safety brand, Kidde and Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services (WSFES) announced a new partnership to help equip local families with the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe from fire.
WSFES received 174 Kidde battery operated smoke alarms through the Kidde Cause for Alarm fire safety campaign–a public education campaign with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council. The campaign will provide more than 1,900 alarms to residents across Ontario. WSFES was one of the 17 Ontario fire departments to be selected for this campaign.
When properly installed and maintained, working smoke alarms can double the chances of escaping a house fire safely. WSFES urges residents to test their smoke alarms regularly and ensure that they are protected.
The donated smoke alarms will support WSFES’s ongoing smoke alarm program, enhancing community safety through education and outreach.
“WSFES is proud to be chosen as a recipient of the Cause for Alarm Campaign. This generous donation will greatly support our community outreach efforts and spread the vital message that only working smoke alarms can save lives in the event of a fire,” says Bill Snowball, Fire Chief, Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire and Emergency Services.
