Construction Notice: Woodbine Avenue, Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville
York Region will be resurfacing Woodbine Avenue from Aurora Road to Vivian Road from April to June 2025. The project includes asphalt removal, culvert replacements, and curb repairs. Temporary lane closures will occur Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM, but access to homes and businesses will be maintained. Safety measures will be in place during the removal of asphalt containing trace amounts of asbestos.
Participate in Stouffville's Community Satisfaction Survey
The Town of Stouffville has launched a Community Satisfaction Survey to gather resident, business, and visitor feedback on local services, open until May 7. The quick, mobile-friendly survey helps guide future planning and improvements, with participants entered into a draw to win a $100 local gift card
Yard Waste Collection Resumes in April
The Town of Stouffville’s curbside yard waste collection has resumed and will continue every other week until November. Residents are reminded to follow proper set-out guidelines and consider backyard composting as a sustainable option.
Stouffville Line Service Change: No GO Train Service April 12-13
Metrolinx is making improvements along the Stouffville Line as part of the GO Expansion program. To accommodate this work, there will be no GO train service on the Stouffville Line on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13.
Mayor and Council Hosting Town Halls to Hear Community Feedback
Mayor and Council are organizing three Spring Town Hall meetings across the municipality’s six wards, offering residents a chance to engage directly with their local representatives. These meetings provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions, discuss important issues, and share feedback.
Significant Weather Event Declared – Freezing Rain Warning
The Town of Stouffville has declared a Significant Weather Event, effective 4:00 p.m. on March 28, 2025, due to a Freezing Rain Warning issued by Environment Canada, with up to 10mm of ice accumulation expected. Roadways, sidewalks, multi-use paths, bicycle lanes, and laneways may become icy and slippery, and clearing efforts may take longer than usual—please use caution.

Public Meeting Notice: Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA25.003) The Town is considering a Zoning By-law Amendment to permit an agricultural and land-based learning centre, as a satellite campus for Pickering College, at 17019 Woodbine Avenue. A Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 7:00 PM—in person or livestreamed at townofws.ca/cmlivestream—to invite public input.
Town Of Stouffville Launches Automated Speed Enforcement Program To Enhance Road Safety
Stouffville has launched its Community Safety Camera Program, using Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) to improve road safety in school and community safety zones. The program, active as of March 17, 2025, issues tickets through the Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) without demerit points or insurance impacts, and revenue will support local safety initiatives.
