Community Services

Community Services is responsible for the planning, administration, operation and maintenance of all Town municipal facilities and parks, recreational programming, special events, cultural programming and cultural facility operations including theatre and Museum services.

Divisions

Heritage, Events and Theater Operations

The Heritage, Events and Theatre Operations Division is accountable for the development, strategy and facilitation of events, exhibits and concerts at 19 on the Park, Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and Town-wide Events, ensuring that there are engagement opportunities for all our residents to promote our community's diversity. The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum has a diverse collection of artifacts, research, educational programs and exhibits. 19 on the Park is located in the heart of Town behind the Clock Tower and is a multi-purpose venue home to live performances, theatre, specialty programming and private events. The Events division is responsible for planning and executing all Town-wide events including signature events such as Ribfest and the Holiday Market. This division is also responsible for supporting third party community festivals and events.

Parks

The Parks division manages the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Town’s parks, trails, sports fields, open space and cemeteries; and the planning, management and monitoring of parkland development and construction.

Facilities

The Facilities Division is the operation and development of municipal facilities, including arena’s, leisure centre and pool, museum, performing arts centre, municipal offices, community centres.

Recreation Services

The Recreation Services Division is responsible for ensuring the offering of recreation opportunities that will fortify the wellbeing of all residents of every age and of all abilities. While offering those core recreation services that are familiar to all, the division also jumps, stretches and twists to respond to the changing needs and recreation interests of our community through the provision of new programs. The Recreation Division is also responsible for assisting community groups and organizations in their delivery of leisure and recreation services by coordinating the utilization of existing leisure resources effectively and efficiently.

Customer Service

Centralized Customer Service Centre is responsible for providing front line customer service to Town residents, business partners, and internal departments within the municipality. We are your link into all the services that the municipal world provides, and hold service level agreements with each municipal department to oversee the service delivery of their various functions.
