The Lakeshore Road Emergency Road Reconstruction and Shoreline Stabilization Project includes 4 Phases:
A degraded 120m section of Lakeshore Road was widened, realigned, and reconstructed. An armourstone retaining wall and guiderail system was installed to improve the structure and safety of the road along the lake shore.
A 100m section of new guiderail was installed along the north side of Lakeshore Rd, immediately west of the intersection of Lakeshore Rd & Windsor Dr to improve road safety at an existing sloped area.
As part of the 2021 Road Repair & Rehabilitation program, the eastern portion of Lakeshore Road was repaired, repaved, and painted. Work included improvements to the intersection of Windsor Drive and Lakeshore Road. The remaining length of Lakeshore Road will be repaired, in phases, during future repair & rehab program delivery.
A design to improve the drainage channel between Lakeshore Road and Windsor Drive is underway. Work is anticipated to include improvements to the culverts at both the Windsor Drive and Lakeshore Road end of the channel, as well as regrading and reinforcement of the channel bed. Construction to proceed pending budget approval.
