Iain Lovatt

Mayor Iain Lovatt was elected Mayor of Whitchurch-Stouffville in 2018 and again in 2022. He was first elected to Whitchurch-Stouffville Council in 2014 as Ward 5 Councillor.

Mayor Lovatt currently serves on York Regional Council and is the Vice-Chair of Housing York Inc. He also sits on the Board of the York Region Rapid Transit Corporation and York Net – YTN Telecom Network Inc.

Mayor Lovatt sits Parks Canada's Rouge National Urban Park Advisory Board and gives his time to a number of non-profit organizations related to youth, the arts & health. As Co-Chair of The Campaign for Markham Stouffville Hospital, his fundraising efforts will help them achieve their $150 million fundraising goal.

With over 25 years of experience in business management, Mayor Lovatt has co-founded and managed several successful technology companies. His entrepreneurial spirit is evident in his community involvement, including the establishment of the Main Street Bakehouse in downtown Stouffville in 2015, a venture he undertook with his wife.

Mayor Lovatt's dedication to both his professional and community endeavors showcases his unwavering commitment to the betterment of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
