The Development Services Department oversees land use planning and development in the Town through policy development, engineering review, building code review, and development approvals across its four divisions: Policy Planning, Development Planning, Engineering, and Building.

Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire and Emergency Services is a composite department with both career and volunteer firefighters, focused on protecting people and property through public education, fire prevention, emergency response, and responsible for the Emergency Management Program.
