Stouffville Visitor Plan

The 2025–2028 Stouffville Visitor Plan is a strategic roadmap to grow tourism, strengthen partnerships and boost the local economy. It focuses on connecting businesses, enhancing visitor experiences, improving tourism infrastructure and promoting Stouffville’s unique attractions and events. Rooted in community input, the plan aims to make Stouffville a more vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.

Commercial Market and Policy Study

Whitchurch-Stouffville is a rapidly growing municipality in York Region. It is largely comprised of rural, environmentally protected areas, as well as communities designated to accommodate urban growth. urbanMetrics inc. in collaboration with The Planning Partnership were retained by the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to conduct a Commercial Policy Study to assess the commercial policies and designations of the Town and forecast future market demand for commercial services.

  • By 2051, the Town projects that the population will more than double, reaching 101,400.
  • Based on future population growth combined with the need to add additional space to provide a more balanced commercial structure, it is estimated that the Town would require approximately 2.5 million square feet of additional space.

York Region Agriculture and Agri-Food Sector Strategy

The 2024-2027 Agriculture and Agri-Food Sector Strategy is an action plan that was approved by York Regional Council in 2024. As a crucial component of York Region’s economic vitality, the new strategy focuses on sustaining and supporting the entire local agri-food sector to enable the sector to thrive for years to come.

Economic Development Strategy

An Economic Development Strategy provides a framework to guide direction and activities to gain an advantage and move beyond status quo. Stouffville’s Economic Development Strategy includes goals and actions for the Town as a whole, specific direction to the Economic Development Office, and opportunities for the broader business community to work together to make a difference.
