Waste collection map and schedule

The 2026 waste collection calendar is mailed to all residential households within Stouffville in mid-late December 2025. Please keep it in a handy place for easy reference throughout the year. 

If you do not receive a calendar by January, please contact us and we will send one to you.

Collection Schedule

Curbside waste collection occurs from Tuesday to Friday, depending on your address. Refer to the 2026 calendar to confirm your collection day and to learn when to place various types of waste at the curb.

All materials must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

  • Green bin (organics) is collected weekly

  • Garbage is collected every other week

  • Yard waste is collected every other week from April to November

Important Service Updates for 2025–2026 Transition

  • There will be no recycling collection during the week of December 29, 2025

  • Bi-weekly cart collection will begin the week of January 5, 2026

  • The final week of collection for the small blue bins will be the week of December 22, 2025

Old Blue Bin Collection

Residents are encouraged to repurpose their old small blue boxes for storage or other household uses. If you prefer to dispose of them:

  • Curbside collection of old blue bins will take place during the week of February 2, 2026

  • Place your unwanted blue bin at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day

  • A separate GFL truck will collect and recycle the empty bins

  • Please ensure bins are completely empty, any bins containing material will not be collected

Christmas Tree Collection

Natural Christmas trees will be collected during a designated week in January. Please refer to the calendar or visit our Christmas Tree Disposal page for preparation instructions and collection dates.

Bulk item pickup

Large and bulk item collection is now available by appointment only. To arrange a pickup, please contact GFL Environmental at 1-866-421-5625 or email wasteline@gflenv.com

Please place garbage, green bins, blue bins and yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m on your scheduled collection day, but not earlier than 5 p.m the night before.
Please do not leave empty bins and/or uncollected material at the curb after your collection day.
Material left at the curb before or after collection will be subject to a By-law violation and fine.
